The farm of Dhuy

The gardens are located on the lands of the historical farm of Dhuy.

The main building, that will soon become a bed and breakfast, was probably built in 1587 as is indicated by the inscription with the sign of Sir Jean of Namur above the front door.

Like the churches of Sclayn and Seilles, the building once belonged to the German abbey of Cornelimunster before belonging to the Lords of Namur and then to the Lords of Dhuy and Flostoy who gave the building its name.

New premises made of limestone and brick were added in the 17th and 18th century until the paved courtyard was totally closed.

The barn made of limestone south of the farm, the tithe barn, bears the inscription 1732.

The name of this building refers to the ancient tax on the harvest that had to be given to the church.

The farm of Dhuy is part of a historic and architectural complex, together with  the castle of Bonneville and the Cense de Jandren that currently hosts a village hall.
